What is Depression? Depression (major depressive disorder) is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Fortunately, it is also treatable. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed. It can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems and can decrease your ability to function at work and at home.
I was so scared that I’ve experience mild symptoms of depression. When the pandemic hit, there are a few times that I was feeling sad, lonely, unable to think well and just crying without any reason. I love my work. There were issues in the past at work, but I was able to handle and surpass those, so this is not about work. I thought God didn’t hear my prayers or answered them, but he did. There is a reason why I married my husband. He was put into my life because God knows I needed him. He always thinks about me and my happiness. He knows when I’m sad and how to make me happy. I really don’t know what my life will be without my husband. I’m crying inside while writing this. I thank God every day for my husband. I love him so much!
If you think you have signs, please do not ignore it and reach out. You talk to your closest friend or get some help! Depression is dangerous if not treated.
