Christmas is celebrated to remember the birth of Jesus Christ.
The name 'Christmas' comes from the Mass of Christ (or Jesus). A Mass service (which is sometimes called Communion or Eucharist) is where Christians remember that Jesus died for us and then came back to life. The 'Christ-Mass' service was the only one that was allowed to take place after sunset (and before sunrise the next day), so people had it at Midnight! So we get the name Christ-Mass, shortened to Christmas.
Christmas is now celebrated by people around the world, whether they are Christians or not. It's a time when family and friends come together and remember the good things they have. People, and especially children, also like Christmas as it's a time when you give and receive presents!
Are you excited that Christmas is coming? Others will say no as they don't have money to celebrate it nor gifts to give to others. Christmas is celebrated in the last month of the year. If you are this person who are always sad on Christmas, then why not change that mind set and save starting January? Plan something for how you save, create a Christmas Jar, put any amount each week or each time you get paid, if you are dependent then put a little amount from the money you received each month into the jar. On the 12th month or in December you have money to spend for Christmas. You can't be sad because you do not have money and blame others that you don't. Saving should be coming from you and from your hard work. How much you get is how much work and what you have put in for the year, blame yourself if you saved a little and not the others. For me, happiness is not just money, it's a mind-set.
Very nice mahal. I can’t wait to see what your next blog will be on. Keep it up!
Christmas was certainly very low key for us this year. We lost internet connectivity from Christmas eve into most of Christmas Day. I spent most of the day in bed pretty much bored out of my mind. Hopefully you all had a safe and awesome Christmas with your families.
